How Are Realistic Baby Dolls Made?
Feb 07,2023 | Veradoll
Creating realistic baby dolls involves an intricate and arduous process that requires love, care and specific artistic skills. From planning, designing, to production, dolls are checked at every stage to make sure they come out exactly as imagined.
Doll Artist Karen Scott
Realistic baby dolls, including Veradoll dolls, start with with the creation of a unique master sculpt. We partner with doll artists from around the world to produce the master form. Each little head is expertly sculpted and are created using a variety of mediums.
Afterwards, we make a wax model which is then developed into our first Master vinyl creation crafted out on one of our three exclusive vinyls that create the real baby feel that collectors are looking for: GentleTouch™, SoftTouch™ or FlexTouch™.
When the first master doll comes together, the head is outfitted with eyes, eyelashes, and specified wig style. The hair of the doll may also be rooted into the vinyl head. The vinyl is painted with blushing and those little detail touches of paint for the lower eye lashes and lips. Each little finger and toenail are painted in our signature baby French manicure technique—all hand-applied and hand-painted by our team of doll experts. Realistic baby dolls also come with cloth bodies that are stuffed and weighted with a bean bag for a more realistic baby feel.
At Veradoll, our realistic baby dolls come with the new and improved doll body that features:
• A more tapapered realistic look
• Custom tailored stitching to achieve the perfect body shape
• New soft and durable body fabric, resists Velcro snagging
• Weighted bean bag bottom for a realistic baby feel
• Limbs made from Veradoll premium vinyls
